State Officer Team

October 2nd, 2009

Usman Ahmed:
Usman Ahmed is honored to be serving as your 2009-2010 New Jersey PBL State President. He is currently a sophomore in Rutgers University – New Brunswick and intends to major in Finance with a minor in Mathematics. Even though this will be his second year in PBL, it will be his fifth year being involved in FBLA-PBL . He has served on various positions in the local, state and national level in highschool and college. Leadership has always been a passion for Usman and he knows NJ FBLA-PBL has given him the right tools to lead NJPBL to a greater success, but he also knows that leading is a two way street and will not stop learning from the organization. Besides PBL, he manages his own website and hopes to become a successful entrepreneur one day. Usman is happy to be serving with a great officer team and hopes that we can all ‘tune into success’ together with an amazing year! Email Usman at: pblpresident@njfbla.org

James Shaw:
James Shaw is excited and ready to serve 2009-2010 New Jersey PBL as your Vice President. As a sophomore at The College of New Jersey, he is pursuing a double major in Finance and Economics. Although this will only be James’ second year in PBL, he has been with the FBLA-PBL organization since his sophomore year in high school. Prior to college, he held multiple positions on the local level of Pennsylvania FBLA over his high school career and consistently participated in the PA State Leadership Conference in Hershey, PA year over year. In addition to serving as the PBL Vice President, he is also the President of the local chapter at The College of New Jersey. Outside of the classroom (and NJ PBL), he is still very interested in business, as well as technology, traveling, photography and playing golf and tennis. Email James at pblvicepresident@njfbla.org

Julie Mahoney:
Julie Mahoney is honored to be on the NJ State officer team this year. She is currently a sophomore at Salem Community College, which she attends through the NJ Stars program. Julie is majoring in education with a minor in Public Relations. During high school Julie fell in love with this organization thanks to Mrs. Landolfi, her excellent high school advisor. In college she knew she wanted to carry on everything FBLA is about, hence her current involvement in PBL. This year she plans to strengthen the bond between New Jersey’s members, because communication is key and “two head are better then one.” Also, she’d like to increase the membership growth immensely, and hopes to get some new chapters started. One thing Julie believes is “In life you can be part of the problem or the solution. I chose to be part of the solution,” and she’d like to spread this belief throughout New Jersey college students. E-mail Julie at pblsecretary@njfbla.org

Frank Gorman:
is proud to serve you as PBL State Membership Director this year. Currently he attends Ocean County College where he is PBL Chapter President. Frank lives in Seaside Heights and is currently appointed to the Seaside Heights Planning and Zoning Board; at the age of 19, and was formally elected to the Seaside Heights Board of Education; at the age of 18. He is the second youngest elected official in the State of New Jersey, as well as the youngest elected official in Ocean County. He is also a real estate agent for Weichert Realtors in Normandy Beach, a community of the Jersey Shore. If you have any ideas for how to increase membership in our state as well as ideas for social functions that you would like to see. Email Frank at pblmembership@njfbla.org.
